THANKS
to all who helped make our 50th Reunion
a big success
The official Reunion
Committee consisted of Diane Edlund Lee (Chair), Char Schill (Keeper of
Lists), Lynne Pfeiffer (website and graphics), John Reikes (golfing
arrangements and phone committee) and Maureen Denton (all-around
helper). Diane and Char traveled to look at possible sites
and interacted extensively with Great Reunions (our reunion managers).
Many
other classmates (and even their spouses or partners) helped to
research addresses, write letters, go and look at places, arrange
reservations, and make extensive phone calls. Others beside the Committee who helped,
including but not limited to, are:
Research by Diane Salassi Thoene and
Carolyn Tucker Hamaker
Dozens and dozens of letters sent by
Pat Jewel Yurkovich
Emails sent by Arlene d'Arcy Yaley
sent out (twice),
Phone committee who made dozens of
calls: Sue Grimes, Pat Barnatone Dorins, and Twink Schader
Perry.
John Reikes and Diane Edlund Lee made many many phone calls also.
Diane and Maureen frequently checked the website classmates.com to find
more people and encourage them to come.

Lynne is the administrator of the page.
We are also
grateful to the teachers who were able to attend our 50th Reunion --
Elizabeth Allen and Dude Angius. Thanks to them
both for all the things they did for us so long ago and for caring
enough to attend our humble party.
GRATITUDE
The experiences we
had
at Los Altos High School, both good and bad, were valuable in our
continuing to learn and become the people we are today.
After
these fifty years, we feel a deep and abiding gratitude to the teachers
who taught us and to the classmates with whom we interacted.
It's a wonderful thing to see how Los Altos High School has developed
and grown -- the new programs in place, the new buildings, the eager
students still thronging the halls.
Gratitude is the memory of the heart.

can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are
conscious of our treasures. ~Thornton Wilder
Gratitude
is a quality similar to electricity: it must be produced and
discharged and used up in order to exist at all. ~William

I have a desire to do something in return.
To do
thanks. To give thanks. Give things. Give thoughts. Give love. So
gratitude becomes the gift, creating a cycle of giving and receiving,
the endless waterfall. Filling up and spilling over… perhaps not even
to the giver but to someone else, to whoever crosses one’s path. It is
the simple passing on of the gift. ~ Elizabeth Bartlett,
heart transplant recipient
If the only prayer you said in your whole
life was, "thank you," that would suffice. ~Meister Eckhart
The
only people with whom you should try to get even are those who have
helped you. ~John E. Southard
If
you have lived, take thankfully the past. ~John Dryden
Not
what we say about our blessings, but how we use them, is the true
measure of our thanksgiving. ~W.T. Purkiser
If
you want to turn your life around, try thankfulness. It will
change your life mightily. ~Gerald Good
We
often take for granted the very things that most deserve our
gratitude. ~Cynthia Ozick
Feeling
gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not
giving it. ~William Arthur Ward
